Post-festum announcement from the 48-hour video game creation marathon – Global Game Jam Skopje 2025 – organized by the Macedonian Games Industry!

Without a doubt, this was the best and most attended Game Jam ever held in Macedonia – and it was the 15th edition!

80 participants registered, but 91 showed up… and all were welcomed. From them, 23 teams were formed, creating an impressive 25 games – 23 video games and two board games.

This year’s theme was “Bubble”, and the event simultaneously took place in 131 countries, across 847 locations, with over 439,047 participants globally.

Global Game Jam Skopje happens every year during the last weekend of January and is the biggest driver of the game development industry in Macedonia.

This year, once again, we hosted lectures before the main “jamming” part of the event. The speakers were Kristijan Trajkovski and Mihajlo Plavevski – young but experienced game jammers. That day was the perfect opportunity for all participants to learn new techniques, expand their knowledge, and network with future colleagues and collaborators.

The awards went into the keyboards of the following teams:

🏆 Best Game: CBT – Hydroplane

🎨 Best Art: Early Bird – Away

⚙️ Best Development: Sime – Bubble Bash

🛹 Best Board Game: GGJ Acebreakers – Pressure

🌱 Rising Gamers: Team Neznam – Bubble Boy

📱 Best Hybrid-Casual Game, CrazyLabs Award: Vedu – Overboiled

🙌 A huge thank you to the 91 participants who showed up in incredible numbers this time!

🙇‍♂️ Special THANK YOU to the sponsors, patrons, and supporters of #GGJSkopje2025: CrazyLabs, CodeChem, sindex, Indium Play and A1 Macedonia, 42.mk – Base42, Qinshift Academy, Red Bull, Pizza Jakomo, KFC, LioCafe, and Sedmica.
